Our first job for NFU Mutual was to promote a farm safety event that they sponsored in the South West. We were working on a farm so high-vis jackets and wellies were packed and ready to go the night before. It was also a perfect time to test out out new 4K camera, the Sony A6500.
We chose to use this camera for one main reason, the in body stabilisation. We knew we would be running around with the camera and a lot of the shots would be handheld or on a monopod. The purpose of 'in-body stabilisation' is to remove any micro jitters you get when hand holding the camera to achieve nice smooth video footage. This was extremely helpful when squeezing into small barns with people taking part in the event, there was no space for a tripod so it was the perfect alternative.
The CEO of NFU Mutual, Lindsay Sinclair, attended the event and he was in high demand from the likes of ITV news and Heart Radio. This obviously gave us minimal time to get a interview 'snippet'. We headed away from the engine noises on the main farm to a small gap in the trees over looking a field. The interview was shot in just less than five minutes and with careful pre-planning we got the answers to fit the story of the video.
