Liverton Solar Park

Rekord produced a short 'corporate' style video for Clinton Devon Estates to show how Liverton Solar Park is helping the nearby community in Devon.

Clinton Devon Estates were recently granted planning permission to build a solar park on redundant land near the town of Exmouth. The video was used on Clinton Devon Estates Youtube page and social media accounts. The purpose of the video was to explain to local residents how the solar park was benefiting their town and Clinton Devon Estates role on providing renewable energy.

We were lucky with the weather although the dirt road on the way down was still muddy from a recent downpour. After getting a few covering shots and the main interview with John, we got permission to fly over the solar panels. It's always interesting to see the world from a different perspective and looking straight down on the solar panels looked like something from a sci-fi film. We used this view as an opening shot to draw in the viewer but it was essential to have some movement going down the middle. The law written by the CAA says that you must remain '50 meters from any road, object or person unless you have been granted permission'. This is all part of the pre-planning stage that is always required.

It's always great to add a drone to your videos to increase the production quality, however safety is always the first concern. Most issues can be found in the pre-planning stage and we will always talk to the client about any recent building/pylons that have recently been erected and may not show on recent map surveys.
